Dear Para Los Niños Supporters,
Like the families we partner with, our story as an organization is defined by moments of great joy, immense pride, and incredible persistence.
Celebrating our 45th anniversary in 2025, we are in a time of reflection as well as forward-facing momentum. In 1980, we started with a single converted warehouse that became a space of safety, warmth, and hope for little ones living in Skid Row. Today, with 16 locations across L.A. County serving more than 10,000 children, youth and their families, we are proud to have remained a haven for our community.
We began the fiscal year advocating for and securing more resources for unhoused families; at the halfway mark, we supported staff and community members impacted by fires that ravaged so much of our beloved county; and we ended the year launching the Para Los Niños Staff & Family Emergency Fund to support those confronting unimaginable hardships due to the terror of inhumane and unjust immigration enforcement actions.
Despite the challenges our 45th year held, in this report, you will read triumphant stories of individuals coming to PLN for one thing they felt they could achieve—be it earning a GED, securing childcare, or attending a community meeting—and unexpectedly having their whole lives changed.
As we face a new set of uncertainties, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the evolving needs of our communities. We are more resolute than ever that we can meet this moment if we lean into our values and the goals set forth in our strategic plan: building systems that connect more people to PLN’s network of support, raising our voice on issues that matter most to our families, and investing in our incredible staff—many of whom represent the communities we serve.
These kinds of success stories don’t happen by chance. They happen through decades of building strong partnerships across public and private sectors, uplifting hundreds of dedicated and compassionate professionals, and engaging thousands of supporters like you, whose deep commitment to your neighbors has transformed generations of Angelenos.
