San Diego, CA – Saturday, August 4th Para Los Niños was presented with the 2019 Family Strengthening Award at the UnidosUS Annual Conference. The conference is a forum for nearly 3,000 leaders, experts, elected officials, and changemakers of today and tomorrow who are committed to championing Latinos.

“On behalf of all of us at Para Los Niños, we are so honored to receive the UnidosUS Family Strengthening Award,” said Para Los Niños President and CEO, Drew Furedi, of the accolade. “Every day, we work tirelessly to ensure that today’s children have the opportunities to reach their goals, and we know this is only possible with a strong, connected family unit. We partner with over 6,000 children, youth and families each year, and we share this award with each of them and their collective efforts to make their families and communities, particularly Latinx communities, stronger. We look forward to our continued partnership and advocacy with UnidosUS. Together we are moving the needle to give all families a chance to thrive.”

Also attending the conference were members of the PLN Youth Workforce Services. This opportunity is a highlight for our youth, aged 18-24, and UnidosUS hosted a Future Changemakers workshop tailored just for the needs and interests of this demographic.
